2011 Pinwheels for Peace

The Pinwheels for Peace event will take place in the third week of September at Oklahoma City University to coincide with the International Day of Peace. Each year the Oklahoma City Chapter promotes an event to share musical, dance, literary and visual art talents from a wide variety of cultures. Local schools participate by students decorating pinwheels to represent whirled (world) peace. These are placed in the ground with dowel rods in a design pattern to blow in the wind.
